The Members

The Married Women’s Association was a relatively small organisation, with approximately 2000 members across twenty branches at its peak membership in the 1940s. In spite of this, it marked an important moment in history when feminist ideas about equality in marriage were changing.

Through this research I want to find out who the members of the Married Women’s Association were, why they formed/joined this group and what impact their campaigns had on the property rights of married women. If you have information on any member or any aspect of the Married Women’s Association, I would be very grateful if you could get in touch.
